Movie Malice - Video tapes fighting to get into a VCR.
"Movie Malice" was my final project before graduating at Full Sail. I'd describe it as an externalized illustration of the internal confict of choosing a video to watch from a library on a shelf, or in this case, a glass table. The underlying concept is that well written movies with good acting win out over those with flashy special effects. Ironic huh?
The content was modeled using NURBS for the furniture, SUB-D's for the viewer perspective stuff (hands and remote), and polygons for the characters. "Effects" include a displacement map on the table for the water ripple, a rigid-body simulation for popcorn/floor collisions, and raytracing for accurate reflections.
